On 16 April 2025, the First Meeting of the Bulgarian partners in the Thematic Projects within the Interreg Euro-MED Green Living Areas Mission of the Interreg Euro-Mediterranean Programme was held online. The event was organised by the National Association of the Municipalities in Republic of Bulgaria. Experts in specific sectors such as environmental protection, sustainable energy, climate changes, and policy making from several regions in Bulgaria participated.
🍃The event started with a presentation of main objectives of the Green Living Areas Mission.
🌟After that, each Bulgarian partner presented its project under the programme, its main objectives and upcoming project activities. The Regional Energy Agency of Pazardjik presented to the attendees the INFIRE project – INnovative FInancing solutions for climate planning of REsilient and carbon neutral living areas, which aims to provide tools, and legislative improvements for transition to carbon neutrality and climate adaptation in the Euro-MED region.
Key outcomes particularly relevant to the national context were identified, considering legislative, economic, social, and other elements. Important dates for upcoming events were also mentioned.
This event provided an opportunity for the partners from the thematic projects in Bulgaria to network and discuss future collaborations, events, and potential improvements of the existing legislative framework in the field of energy and climate.
