INnovative FInancing solutions for climate planning of REsilient and carbon neutral living areas

Investments in energy and green infrastructure must be doubled to achieve the EU’s climate and energy 2030 targets. Awareness regarding these targets, especially on local and regional levels in countries of the Euro-Mediterranean area, remains low; while negative effects of climate change, which have exposed the area as a vulnerable and not resilient, cause serious environmental, social and economic implications that are steadily being increased.
A holistic and integrated approach to climate resilience and carbon neutrality is needed to tackle the aspects related to: energy efficiency and decarbonisation of the building stock, production of renewable energy, implementation of naturebased solutions, provision of sustainable energy and mobility services to citizens, the engagement of all relevant stakeholders. This is, exactly, the focus of INFIRE project.
